Who we are

SchoolsInfo (schoolsinfo.co.za) is an online directory of South African schools. Contact: hello@schoolsinfo.co.za.

What we collect

You don't need an account to use SchoolsInfo. We collect:

  • Usage data through Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
  • Your location, only if you tap “Use my location” on the schools-near-me page. It is sent to our server to find nearby schools and is not stored or logged.
  • Emails you send us, which we use only to reply and to update listings.
  • Your shortlist of schools to compare is stored in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.

School information

School details come from the Department of Basic Education's public school masterlist. We do not publish principals' names or personal email addresses. To ask for a personal phone number to be removed from a school listing, email us.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
